Aloha!
I began my interest in birth work over 7 years ago when I began specializing in studio newborn photography and volunteering with over 50 families experiencing perinatal loss through the non-profit organization Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. Beyond my Photography and Illustration degree (BFA / Savannah College of Art & Design), I sought to expand my knowledge of maternal and infant care so that I could better serve families in my studio.
After encouragement from the Labor/Delivery staff, midwives, families, and other birth workers, I began serving as a birth doula and received my training from DONA International (Washington, D.C.), along with multiple studies and certifications in Pregnancy and Infant Loss.
I am very much looking forward to making an impact in the Michigan birth community. In O‘ahu, I am proud to have dedicated my time and resources to organizations such as Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, Birth Professionals of O‘ahu, CoronaCare Hawai‘i, Planned Parenthood, the Queen’s Court, and serve on the Community Based Doula team which aims to decrease disparities and improve outcomes for our communities of color in Hawai‘i.
Mahalo (thank you) for taking the time to consider me as an addition to your birth team. xo

“Being a Doula is truly a family affair: I love being able to help encourage the relationship between the birthing person and their partner/kids/birth team, so that everyone feels supported and able to focus on what matters most. I certainly step in when and where I’m needed but I also make clear that I am not here to ‘replace’ the people who matter most. Regarding whether the birth takes place at home, in the hospital, with an epidural, or ends in a c-section is not a choice I make as a Doula; it’s a choice I support.”
